Physical Activity

Physical Activity and good nutrition are key factors in leading a healthy lifestyle and reducing chronic illnesses. The Healthy Nation Program offers several physical activity opportunities to support a healthy active lifestyle.

Community Physical Activity: A variety of physical activity events are offered throughout the year to bring families and individuals of all ages together to have fun and be active.

Physical Activity Information and Resources:  Program staff is available to help identify community resources. Physical activity related brochures, and other health educational materials are also available to help promote awareness and education about the benefits of being physically active.

Chronic Disease Screening:  Held at designated county sites every six months, screenings include height, weight, body mass index (BMI) and waist-to-hip ratio. This screening helps you to become aware of your risk of chronic health problems and help you identify ways to prevent them.
